Dr. Fugate’s commitment to support students and their families in Special Education and 504 begins with educating future teachers about the importance of a collaborative with parents and school personnel. As a parent of exceptional children, Dr. Fugate asked me to be a guest speaker for one of her teacher preparation classes. It is evident that advocacy for all children is a priority for Dr. Fugate, which includes training and preparing for current and future teachers.
